Stick #5
Tao Yuanming's Flower Planting
GoodPoem
Last night in eastern grove, fierce winds did blow,
All blooms in splendid hues were laid down low.
Yet dawn brought one who loved each petal dear,
Who nursed their roots till life did reappear.
東園昨夜狂風急
萬紫千紅亦盡傾
幸有惜花人起早
培回根本復栽生
Interpretation
Fierce winds have toppled all the blossoms—a perilous sign. But luckily, a flower-lover arose early to tend their roots, restoring life. This signifies noble assistance in crisis. Though danger exists, rescue comes if you swiftly mend your ways and move others' hearts. The 'fortunate' hint suggests such help is rare. While misfortune holds hidden blessings, beware of slanderers and disputes.
